There exists an irritant on the face of the Earth, whose malevolence afflicts its landscape with wholesale destruction, greedy and malign in its pursuit of dominion. When, and where it can, the planet fights back. From the dark, subterranean abyss, the bleak, windswept land, and the fathomless sea, there comes a terror that is hard to resist. In the conflict between humankind and nature, there can be only one eventual victor. And that victor will not speak with words, but with fire, flood and famine.
